Banjir, bonjour!

Yesterday afternoon, it poured down more than cats and dogs.

It rained so heavily, something unexpected happened at our Glenmarie studio.

I was in the middle of a meeting on the 1st floor when some staff from the 2nd floor barged into the meeting room, all panicky.

"Tingkat atas banjir," we were told.

We all ran upstairs sambil aku pikir, "Macam mana lak tingkat atas boleh banjir? Bukan banjir selalu bermula dari tanah rendah? Ni tingkat paling atas pulak boleh banjir..."

Sampai kat 2nd floor, the first sight I had was water dripping down from the ceiling right above some working stations.

Yang lagi hebat, masa tu, the 3D animators yang dok buat kerja kat situ selamba je. No body moved or twitched. Air mula bertakung atas lantai.

Then suddenly, a gush of water fell down and the ceiling totally collapsed. Seluruh lantai 2nd floor terus banjir big time.

Masa tu, barulah semua orang kelam kabut cabut their PCs and the server machine from the sockets. Yang amat merbahayanya, the office socket pulak memang jenis tertanam on the floor. Air pulak mulai masuk dalam circuits.

Nasib baik takde siapa yang terkena electric current masa tu. Cepat-cepat kami turned the main switch off; kalau ada yang mati kena karan, jadi cerita lain pulak dah nanti.

Sedar-sedar, air jatuh melimpah-limpah dari tangga 2nd floor macam waterfall.

Before we knew it, air mula menitik jatuh ke office 1st floor pulak. The Concept Art room abis lencun carpetnya. Reception area habis banjir sama. Bilik COO pun air tiris jatuh dari ceiling.

Alhamdulillah, bilik aku & Sam selamat dari bencana. Langsung tak masuk air. Cepat-cepat aku tutup notebook & pack barang-barang aku.

Sepanjang episode ini, suasana studio kami petang semalam memang chaos ala-ala Titanic sebelum tenggelam.

All work was halted, damages seemed extremely bad. Semua orang chow, walaupun kerja yang due bertimpa-timpa.

We can't turn the electricity main switch sampai ke hari ni (for the fear of short circuit), and I am writing this entry from this restaurant yang satu row dengan studio kami.

In fact, hari nih aku tak masuk office pun lagi.

Kalau masuk office, mesti banyak benda akan dihalakan kat aku. Malas aku nak memikirkan ini masalah.

But since yesterday, I couldn't stop thinking, "what does all this mean?"

Maybe, possibly, ini satu petanda dari Allah buat kami semua?
